With a regular printer, you select a file, launch the printing process, and wait for the file to be printed on real-life paper. Things go pretty much the same with Vista PDF Creator – just that this time you use a virtual printer that prints out the file you selected as a PDF file. Any file that can be printed out can thus be turned into a PDF file.

The Vista PDF Creator installer is little over 1Mb in size; downloading such a lightweight file will take little time, even on a lousy internet connection. Run the installer and you will be presented with a setup wizard. Pick a supported language, select the installation directory (or just let the default in place), pick if you want to create a desktop icon, hit Install, and the wizard will quickly install Vista PDF Creator on your machine.

From the Printers folder, you can access the virtual printer that Vista PDF Creator puts at your disposal. From the Printing Preferences window you can play with several settings: PDF page, image compression, font embedding, color space, encryption, and automatic output.

If you’ve ever used the Print function to print files, you should have no problems using Vista PDF Creator. There is something that must be mentioned here: Vista PDF Creator is not free, it is only free to try and the trial version will put a watermark on the output.

To sum it up, Vista PDF Creator takes any printable document and turns it into a PDF file. It comes with a few handy extra features, such as image compression and encryption, which are sure to put a smile on your face.

Pros

Downloading and getting this application up and running will take little of your time. You can play with several settings: PDF page, image compression, font embedding, color space, encryption, and automatic output. Using Vista PDF Creator is an incredibly simple process.

Cons

The trial puts a watermark on the output.
